High Carbon Ferro Chrome Low Titanium

High Carbon Ferro Chrome (HC FeCr) is a ferroalloy with a high carbon content.

The high carbon content in HC FeCr makes it an ideal alloying element for applications requiring high hardness and wear resistance, such as steel production and foundry applications.

It’s a combination of iron (Fe), chromium (Cr), and carbon (C), with a typical composition of:

Applications

  • Steel production: Adds strength, hardness, and corrosion resistance to steel.
  • Foundry industry: Used in the production of cast iron and steel alloys.
  • Heat-resistant alloys: Provides high-temperature properties and corrosion resistance.
  • Wear-resistant alloys: Adds hardness and abrasion resistance to alloys.
  • Electrical contact materials: Used in electrical contacts and switches due to its high melting point.

Benefits

  • High carbon content increases hardness and wear resistance
  • High chromium content provides excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance
  • Good high-temperature properties
  • Essential for producing heat-resistant and wear-resistant alloys
